  1. The photo with the vintage gas pumps captioned "He'll Be Waiting for a Long Time
Adair, IA" is in Anita, Iowa, not Adair. Anita is the next town west of Adair on Historic Route 6 (County Road G30 and Iowa 83). The 62 mile section between Adel and Atlantic is due for Historic Route 6 markers in coming months. The city of Anita has joined the Route 6 Tourist Assn, and plans to erect 4 markers. Talks are in the works with other municipalities and development companies for additional signs. Soon there will be no excuse to drive on Interstate 80 when you really want the two lane experience of Route 6 and the 16 communities bypassed by I-80.
